My Negative Macbook Pro 2021 Review

I’m not a critic. I’m just a filmmaker. But I had to write this review of the new Macbook Pro because I still don’t think it tops the 2015 Macbook Pro. It’s very frustrating. I’m not at all worried about the price.

In a nutshell, I want to keep this brief. Here are the problems:

  1. My new Macbook Pro 2021 keeps sliding on my desk as I’m writing using Final Draft 11. Why? Because it doesn’t have true rubber feet. You have to see this for yourself. The 2021 rubber feet feel metalic. I can’t stop the sliding and it’s driving me crazy as a writer.
  2. There is no USB port so my Brother laser printer can’t print out my script. My other HP printers can’t connect via Wi-Fi. My Brother doesn’t even have Mac OS 12. I also can’t connect to any older hard-drives as they use USB.
  3. The Macbook Pro 2021 is very heavy.
  4. The giant trackpad is too big on this new model. It causes tremendous problems as you’re writing as your thumb causes the cursor to move
  5. The battery is still running out fast despite this new model is 2 days old.
  6. The monitor is too redish in color. I liked the Macbook Pro’s 2015’s bluish color.
  7. The keyboard of this new model is too crunched compared to 2015's

I love how they got rid of the Touch Bar of this new model and the speakers are out-of-this-world good, but I would trade this 2021 Macbook Pro in a heart-beat for a brand new 2015 Macbook Pro. In a heart-beat.

I hate leaving negative reviews and I promise this is the only one I’ve ever written on Medium. But I’m writing a feature film to be shot next year and it’s mega-frustrating to have to go back to a 6-year old laptop to write a script!

Merry Christmas and God bless everyone!
